POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the provision of services, consumer care and monitoring facility and activities during assigned shift. Medical support to multidisciplinary treatment team and Crisis units

QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed Practical Nurse with license in state of KY at least one year of psychiatric experience. Must provide own transportation.

SKILL SETS: Good computer skills, superior oral and written communication skills, articulate, trustworthy and decisive. Other skill sets include but are not limited to highly organized, good anticipatory planning, conflict resolution and analytical skills

PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Frequent talking and hearing when communicating with clients, members of their families or other professionals. Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens, biohazardous waste, hazardous waste and communicable diseases.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensures safe therapeutic environment.
2. Provides medication information and training to staff
3. May conduct Crisis screenings, admissions and discharges.
4. Ensures proper documentation of services provided and billed.
5. Works with multidisciplinary team to develop and carry out comprehensive treatment plan.
6. Provides medical support to psychiatrist, APRN and staff.
7. Record and carry out M.D. orders.
8. Administers injections for clients, maintaining appropriate timely schedules.
9. Assists psychiatrist with medication storage, distribution and disposal.
10. Supervises consumer self-administration of medication.
11. Communicates with regional agencies and hospitals regarding continuity of care.
12. Participates in diagnostic and treatment planning conferences and other required meetings.
13. Educates clients and their families about sever mental illness and medications with individual therapy.
14. Assist Program Coordinator with Policy and Procedure updates and scheduling as needed.
15. Work with MHT's to ensure Q 15 minute checks conducted and documented.
16. Work with MHT's to ensure preparation and delivery of consumer meals and clean up.
17. Participates in agency continuing quality improvement (CQI) activities.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

2. Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.
